Elvis Presley's rights holders sue Anthropic over training Claude on 274 songs
A subsidiary of Authentic Brands Group, which controls Presley's intellectual property, filed a lawsuit against Anthropic on October 23 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. The plaintiffs claim that 274 songs were used to train Claude models without a license or payments, and are demanding up to $150,000 for each composition — up to $48.6 million in total. Anthropic said it disagrees with the claims and will defend itself.
