Financial Times: Europe may offer Putin two scenarios for ending the war, including Ukraine's NATO membership in exchange for Donbas
According to Financial Times international affairs columnist Gideon Rachman, European leaders plan to hold independent talks with the Kremlin. Putin may be offered two options: freezing the conflict along the current front line with a guarantee that Ukraine will not join NATO, or handing Russia the remaining part of Donbas followed by Ukraine's membership in the alliance. Against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between the US and Ukrainian presidents, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the war has reached a 'strategic stalemate' and 'no one will win.'
