Political scientist Yuri Svetov said that cooperation between Russia and the European Union after the end of the special operation in Ukraine is impossible without a change of leadership in European countries. He criticized the EU's position on reparations and called Ursula von der Leyen's assessment of Russia as an 'unreliable partner' into question, noting that Europe itself abandoned energy resources. Earlier, Dmitry Peskov said that Europe had frozen relations with Russia almost to zero.

On the night of October 24–25, 2026, most EU countries will move their clocks back from 3:00 to 2:00 — the switch to 'winter' time. The abolition of the seasonal clock change, supported in 2018 by 84% of participants in a Europe-wide survey and approved by the European Parliament in 2019 (410 votes to 192), has still not been implemented: member states have not agreed on which time should be made permanent. In the USA the change will take place only on November 1; Russia has not changed its clocks since 2014.
