Since October 26, the main turnaround point on Amir Temur Street in Tashkent's Yunusabad district has been closed due to BRT lane construction work. As a result, the routes of 13 bus lines have been changed: five continue straight, while eight turn around at the Shahristan metro station. No completion date for the work has been given.
Sevara AzamovaFrom October 25, temporary traffic restrictions are in effect in Tashkent on two sections — in the Sergeli and Yunusabad districts — where dedicated BRT bus lanes with a total length of about 2.8 km are being built. The roads are not fully closed: the works are taking place in the central part of the roadway.
Aziz KarimovThe press service of the Center for Traffic Organization announced the opening of a new section of dedicated bus lane on Shakhrisabz street about 1 km long — from Amir Temur avenue to Makhtumkuli street. The continuous BRT line on Shota Rustaveli and Shakhrisabz streets has reached almost 8 km. In the future, the corridor is planned to be extended, linking the Sergeli and Yunusabad districts.
Otabek YusupovThe Tashkent khokimiyat announced plans to create dedicated bus lanes (BRT-style) on Mukimi, Karatash and Kukcha Darvoza, Parkent streets and Mirzo Ulugbek avenue. Previously, a tram ran along these routes, closed in May 2016. The development of design documentation will preliminarily require about 6.5 billion soums from the City Development Fund.
