Expert urged drivers not to put off changing their tires
Drivers who have not yet switched from summer to winter tires should do so as soon as possible. With this appeal, Anton Shaparin, vice-president of the National Automobile Union, spoke in an interview with Gazeta.Ru. His comment came after a yellow level of weather danger was declared in Moscow and the Moscow Region due to black ice.
'Change them immediately'
'The tires should have been changed long ago, because the prolonged warm weather is a big chimera. There will be no eternal summer or eternal autumn in Russia. Accordingly, if you suddenly haven't changed them, the course of action is extremely simple: go and change them immediately,' Shaparin said. He advised doing this during the day, when the temperature rises slightly, and choosing the nearest tire shop to minimize risks. If that is not possible, the expert suggested using public transport.
