A cool week with snow and black ice
Cool weather with precipitation and black ice is expected in the Moscow region in the coming days. This was reported to RT in an interview by Alexander Ilyin, a forecaster at the Meteo forecasting center, as quoted by Gazeta.Ru.
Forecast for November 6 and the weekend
For November 6, the forecaster predicted light snow throughout the day with a northwesterly wind of up to 7-12 m/s. At night the temperature will be 0…+2 °C, during the day up to +1…+3 °C, and black ice will persist on the roads. On the night from Friday to Saturday, temperatures of -1…-3 °C are expected in the capital, and down to -5 °C in the region, with daytime temperatures around 0 °C. On the night into Sunday it will get even colder: -1…-6 °C, with daytime temperatures of 0…+5 °C and possible light snow. The wind will subside over the weekend to 3-8 m/s, and atmospheric pressure will rise to 752 mm Hg by Sunday
What forecasters said earlier
Earlier, forecaster Tatyana Pozdnyakova told Gazeta.Ru that mostly wet snow would fall in Moscow this week, with total precipitation not exceeding 2 mm — at such temperatures it would melt. Ilyin's forecast essentially refines this picture: with similar precipitation, nighttime temperatures drop into noticeable minus territory, which is what creates the risk of black ice on the roads. In addition, meteorologist previously revealed what the coming winter would be like.
