GM unveils fourth-generation EV platform focused on computing and AI
At the annual GM Forward event in New York, GM announced a fourth-generation EV platform: a Central Compute Unit (CCU) 40 times more powerful than previous systems, a 30% reduction in wiring, a launch with the Cadillac Escalade IQ in 2028, and hands-off, eyes-off highway autonomous driving. The company also intends to halve its development cycle, competing with Chinese automakers.
