France's Highest Hotel Opens in the Pyrenees at 2,620 Meters
Hôtellerie des Laquets in the Pyrenees, built between 1930 and 1933 and closed for more than 30 years, welcomed guests again at the end of September. The hotel at an altitude of about 2,620 meters surpassed Refuge de Solaise (2,551 m) to become the highest hotel in France. It has 16 double rooms with panoramic views, a restaurant with a menu by Michelin-starred chef Stéphane Tournier, and a spa area will open in December.
