What happened in the restaurant
A Volgograd resident named Olesya suffered burns to her legs while celebrating her birthday at the Goya restaurant, which specializes in Pan-Asian cuisine. This was reported by the Telegram channel SHOT PROVERKA, which Life.ru cites. According to the woman, during dinner she ordered tea: as the waiter was placing the teapot on the table, his hand, she claims, remained in the handle, and while reaching for a lemonade, the employee tipped the hot water over the guest.
Injuries and the establishment's response
The boiling water hit the birthday girl's legs. According to Olesya, a doctor examined her and diagnosed first-degree burns, with the injuries affecting about 4% of her body surface. Instead of compensation, she says, the restaurant offered a deposit of three thousand rubles that could be used on a next visit. The woman does not intend to return to the establishment and considers the offer disproportionate to what happened. She also complained that after the incident no one from the restaurant asked how she was feeling, and that she received no response to her follow-up inquiry, although her message had been read.
Next steps and context
Olesya is considering sending Goya's management a pre-trial claim and demanding monetary compensation. No lawsuit or official proceedings have been reported so far. According to the restaurant's official website cited by Life.ru, the establishment's concept was included among the hundred best restaurant concepts in Russia according to the 'Palm Branch of the Restaurant Business' award. The outlet also recalls a similar case: a resident of Rostov-on-Don demanded 543 thousand rubles from a fast-food restaurant for burns from hot coffee — according to him, instead of compensation he was offered a free hamburger, after which he went to court.
