Warming next week
A slight warming is expected in Moscow next week. RIA Novosti was told about this by Alexander Golubev, head of short-range weather forecasting at Russia's Hydrometeorological Center. According to him, the warming will be linked to the appearance of clearer skies and the arrival of a warmer air mass from the northwest. During the day, the air temperature will at first be around the climate norm and then one to two degrees above it; overall, the forecaster predicts temperatures from +1°C to +6°C, and, in his words, no wet snow is expected.
When to expect snow cover
These clarifications add to an earlier forecast by the Hydrometeorological Center's leading meteorologist Lyudmila Parshina: she stated that the formation of noticeable snow cover in Moscow is expected in the second half of November and closer to the end of the month, while only brief snowfalls are forecast for the first half of the month. Thus, the warming next week is consistent with her assessment: there will be no lasting snow cover in the capital in the near future.
