A horn blaring for almost a kilometer and a half
On the morning of Friday, November 15, 2024, Shirin Karimova, a resident of Tashkent, was taking her son to kindergarten as usual. A black Hyundai was driving behind her, its driver persistently honking for almost a kilometer and a half. At a traffic light, pulling up alongside her car, he rolled down the window and told her that she had a flat tire. When she stopped at the roadside, she saw that he was right. She herself told the story in a column on Daryo.uz.
Several hours of helping a stranger
The situation was complicated by the fact that the woman was alone with her little son, and the spare tire in the trunk turned out to be unusable as well. The driver's name was Alisher aka; his own son was also in the car. He did not limit himself to words of sympathy: together with his son and acquaintances he called for help, they removed the damaged tire, and so that the woman would not be late, Alisher aka himself took her child to kindergarten. Then they went to a tire shop, where they repaired both tires, returned to the car and put the wheel back in place.
Refusing gratitude
When the wheel had been installed, Karimova tried to thank her helper with money, but he flatly refused and would not even allow her to take his photo. According to her, he explained it this way: if his own daughter and grandson were ever in a similar situation, he too would want there to be someone nearby who would not just drive past. They did not exchange contacts; she only remembers that he lives not far from her home and mentioned Tsiolkovsky Street.
Why the story was published
The author emphasizes that she told this story not only to express gratitude to Alisher aka: she wants her son, when he grows up, to know that one day a stranger helped his mother in a difficult moment, and she wants readers to remember that sometimes the most important act is simply not to pass by. She addresses him directly: if he ever reads this story, she remembers him and is sincerely grateful.
