The key facts

  • Traffic on the A373 Tashkent — Osh highway at the 1st kilometer (bridge over the Chirchik, Bektemir district) will be closed from 10:00 on November 3 to 07:00 on November 4
  • The restriction applies only in the direction from the Fergana Valley to Tashkent
  • The detour for traffic from the Yukorichirchik district is via the D012 toward Iyk-ota and Fargona yuli street

What is being closed and for how long

Traffic will be temporarily restricted on a section of the A373 Tashkent — Osh highway passing through the Bektemir district of Tashkent. According to the Committee for Roads,, the reason is repair work on the bridge over the Chirchik River, located at the 1st kilometer of the highway. The closure will last from 10:00 on November 3 to 07:00 on November 4 and will affect only the direction from the Fergana Valley to Tashkent.

Where traffic will be directed

For drivers' convenience, vehicles entering Tashkent from the Yukorichirchik district will be directed, starting from the 6th kilometer of the D012 road (Bektemir city — Chirchik city — Gazalkent city — Charvak settlement), toward Iyk-ota and Fargona yuli street. In practical terms, this means that those planning to enter the city from the Fergana Valley side via the A373 on the morning of November 3 or during the night should plan a detour in advance — the opposite direction of traffic will not be closed.

Context

Daryo.uz also recalls that it was previously reported about nearly six thousand violations, identified in road construction in Uzbekistan over nine months. The publication does not indicate any connection between that report and the current bridge repair.
