Evacuees spoke about life in Alyoshky and their plans
High school student Daria from Alyoshky in the Kherson region, evacuated by a humanitarian convoy together with her six brothers and sisters to Simferopol,, told RIA Novosti that she wants to finish school and enroll in a Russian university. Her father Kirill clarified that the family intends to tie its future to the Krasnodar Territory and left primarily for the sake of the children — to a place with safe and comfortable living conditions. According to him, the children were evacuated by Russian Armed Forces servicemen, and the journey went calmly.
Life without electricity and other family stories
Daria described living conditions in the town: the house had to be heated with a potbelly stove, the family got electricity from solar panels, and the hardest task was getting food — they had to travel to another settlement for it. Now the girl wants to return to an ordinary life: 'My plans for the future are to finish school and enroll somewhere,' Gazeta.Ru quotes her as saying.
Other evacuees
Igor Lazarenko's family also plans to start a new life in the Krasnodar Territory: with the help of Russian servicemen, he brought his elderly mother, who needs spinal surgery, out of Alyoshky and hopes to have the operation done in Anapa. 'Thank you very much. We made the trip wonderfully. We were escorted,' he said. A town resident named Andrey left with his wife, an 11-year-old granddaughter, and an adult son who was wounded in a UAV strike two years ago. The family lived on the outskirts of the town and, according to him, managed to take everything they needed, including documents; servicemen drove the children to the evacuation departure point.
Assessment of the mission in the Kremlin
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, summing up the results of the humanitarian mission in Alyoshky, said that the Russian and Ukrainian ombudspersons Yana Lantratova and Dmytro Lubinets managed to establish a dialogue, and called this an important step for human rights work. On October 30, Lantratova announced the completion of the mission — details are provided in the Gazeta.Ru article. Earlier it was reported that several residents of Alyoshky were hospitalized in Crimea.
