What is proposed
In Uzbekistan, a draft resolution has been put forward for public discussion that provides for additional free services for passengers at international airports, major railway stations, and bus terminals. As UzNews.uz reports, the document has been published on the draft discussion portal regulation.adliya.uz.
Timeline and content of the measures
According to the draft, starting from July 1, 2027, transport facilities plan to gradually introduce free luggage storage for ticket holders — for up to 24 hours before departure and after arrival. Passengers are also to be provided with free Wi-Fi access for at least one hour.
Ordering a taxi via terminals
The third innovation concerns taxis: airports and stations are to be equipped with electronic terminals through which a passenger can specify their destination, find out the cost of the trip in advance, and order an official taxi. This will not require a SIM card or mobile internet, and after placing the order the passenger will receive a receipt with a QR code.
Rationale and status of the document
The action plan notes that the quality and stability of Wi-Fi at major transport facilities are currently insufficient, the system for ordering official taxis via terminals with QR receipts has not been implemented, and free luggage storage has not been organized under a unified procedure. The proposed measures are aimed at improving the quality of service. For now, this is only a draft put forward for discussion — no announcements about its adoption have been made.
