Benefits in effect without the code: MPs grill the Ministry of Economy and Finance over tax amendments

On 27 October the Legislative Chamber approved in the first reading a draft law on support for entrepreneurship. Deputies pointed out that some benefits that were supposed to take effect on 1 January 2026 have still not been incorporated into the Tax Code, although businesses are already using them. The Ministry of Economy and Finance proposed allowing benefits to be applied before they are incorporated into the code.

Uzbekistan proposes reducing conscript service by one month for prize-winning places in the republican reading contest

On October 13, 2026, the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan passed in the first reading a bill amending the law “On Universal Military Duty and Military Service.” The draft provides for a one-month reduction in service term for conscripts who took prize-winning places in the republican reading contest “Manaviyat Qalqoni,” as well as legal foundations for new contracts with graduates of flight specialties of military universities, including foreign ones.
