Uzbekistan's Central Bank sees room to cut the rate by about 2 percentage points, but leaves it untouched for now
Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank Nodirbek Achilov explained why the regulator kept the rate at 14%: the real rate of about 7% against a neutral level of 5% allows for easing, but the Central Bank is waiting for a sustained slowdown in inflation across all components. A cut to 13.5% was considered at the meeting.
