Bee, an Amazon-owned maker of wearable AI devices, announced its first new products since the acquisition: the Bee Frontier wristband at $74.99 and the Bee Eclipse card at $99.99, which magnetically attaches to a smartphone. Graham Brewam, 74, pleaded guilty to raping the victim in September 2024. He became the third of 13 defendants to admit guilt. The woman's husband has admitted 62 offences. The trial of the remaining ten has been adjourned until 2 November.

The roof of the Al-Khayr private educational center in Peshawar (Pakistan) collapsed. According to the BBC, at least 33 people were killed — 32 students and one teacher. The children were aged 6 to 12, and most suffered head injuries. Rescuers do not rule out that children may still be under the rubble.

Scientists at the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, together with foreign colleagues, have for the first time discovered the Turkmen long-eared bat (Plecotus turkmenicus) in the country. The rare species was found in the South Ustyurt National Natural Park during an expedition under the IUCN project 'One Health in Nature Conservation', funded by Germany's International Climate Initiative. Previously, the species was known mainly from data collected before 1970 and museum specimens.

Construction of an artificial lake with fountains covering 17 thousand sq. m has begun in the Kumaryk mahalla of the Sergeli district of Tashkent. The reservoir will be located directly under the aircraft landing approach path. The work is more than 30% complete, with completion planned by the end of the year. Water will be supplied from underground wells at a depth of 30 m.
