The actress's death and possible inheritance disputes

The death of People's Artist of the RSFSR Lidia Fedoseeva-Shukshina became known on November 7: she was 88 years old. She is survived by three daughters — Anastasia Voronina-Francisco, Maria, and Olga Shukshina. Lawyer Alexander Khaminsky, in a comment to Gazeta.Ru, suggested that the inheritance case may raise the question of rights to Vasily Shukshin's works: it remains to be determined whether the actress owned a share in her husband's creative legacy at the time of her death.

The share in Shukshin's legacy has already been contested in court

This question is not new: according to the actress's lawyer Yulia Verbitskaya-Linnik,the share passed to Maria Shukshina under an agreement, and her sister Olga tried to challenge the deal, but in March 2025 the court rejected the claim. Thus, if the share was part of the actress's property, its fate has already been determined by the existing court ruling, not only by the will.

What may be included in the inheritance

Among the property that, according to Khaminsky's assessment, may be included in the estate are the apartment on Bochkova Street, where the actress lived with Vasily Shukshin, and housing in New Moscow. These may be joined by her personal archive and rights to the actress's own works. Verbitskaya-Linnik previously said that Fedoseeva-Shukshina had made a will, but its contents were not disclosed publicly. The lawyer suggests the document could be contested, but no new lawsuit is reported in the publication.

The apartment in New Moscow — the subject of a past dispute

The housing in New Moscow had already been the subject of a separate conflict: after Bari Alibasov re-registered the house in the settlement of Pervomayskoye in the name of his driver, Fedoseeva-Shukshina, with the support of her daughter Olga, went to court and recovered the property. This means that at least one of the apartments mentioned in assessments of the estate's composition had already gone through legal proceedings during the actress's lifetime.

Together in life and after death: Fedoseeva-Shukshina will be buried next to her husband at Novodevichy Cemetery
