A month of waiting and a moral damages lawsuit

A resident of the Moscow region named Veronika went to court against her former employer after being unable to receive her employment record book for about a month. As the Telegram channel Baza reports, as cited by Life.ru, the woman demanded 15,000 rubles in compensation for moral damages, as well as a month's earnings which, by her calculation, she had lost because of the delay in receiving the document.

How the document's release was delayed

According to the woman, she asked for the record book to be sent by registered mail, but the HR department explained the delay first by quarantine, then by a post office being closed. In the end, the document was delivered to her by a courier. Veronika said that during the waiting period she lost her appetite and sexual desire, and her hair began to fall out; she attributed this to the stress caused by the delay and, according to her, saw a psychologist and a neurologist.

Outcome of the case and what the law says

The dispute ended in a settlement agreement, the terms of which are not disclosed in the original report — that is, it remains unknown whether the plaintiff received the claimed 15,000 rubles and compensation for lost earnings. For context: lawyer Elena Rudakova recalled, that upon dismissal the employer is obliged to give the employee their employment record book or provide information about their employment history, and final settlement, including compensation for unused vacation, is carried out on the day of dismissal.
