Agreement on training chefs

Uzbekistan's Migration Agency held negotiations with representatives of the Japanese companies M&K and Yo’l Japan LLC, as well as Kanazawa Professional University of Food Management. The topic of the meetings was the training of qualified culinary specialists and their subsequent employment. Kun.uz reported this.

How the program works

Following the negotiations, an agreement was reached at the first stage to train 40 citizens of Uzbekistan according to Japanese standards. The program consists of two stages. For the first six months, participants will study in Uzbekistan — Japanese language and the chef's profession — using the facilities of the INTIL center and a vocational education institution in the Bostanlyk district. Then, for a year, they will continue their professional training in Japan while combining it with work.

License and employment prospects

Program participants will prepare to obtain a chef's license recognized by the Japanese state. According to the agency, specialists who meet the relevant requirements and obtain the license will be able to work in Japanese restaurants around the world. The agency promised to provide additional information after the participant registration procedure is approved — that is, for now the program exists only as an agreement, and details of selection and application have not yet been announced.
