A new touring revenue record

Canadian singer The Weeknd has become the highest-grossing male performer in touring history: his After Hours Til Dawn tour brought in more than $1.3 billion. This was reported by the Variety portal citing data from promoter Live Nation; USA Today also wrote about the new record, noting: «The record book has a new king, and his name is The Weeknd». The previous achievement belonged to Elton John, whose farewell tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road grossed more than $939 million over 330 concerts in 2018–2023.

The scale of the tour

The tour began in July 2022 and ended on November 4, 2026 with a concert at TM Stadium National in Kuala Lumpur. Over four years, the artist performed 176 shows in 67 cities across 30 countries on five continents and sold more than 9 million tickets, over 3 million of them in 2026, which brought in about $500 million in revenue. The Asian leg originally included 11 stadium concerts, but due to demand it was expanded to 17 — with three shows in Bangkok and four in Hong Kong.

Place in the overall ranking

Despite the record among men, The Weeknd ranks only third in the overall list of the highest-grossing tours in history. Taylor Swift leads with The Eras Tour — $2 billion over 149 concerts in 2023–2024, followed by Coldplay in second place with Music of the Spheres World Tour — more than $1.5 billion over 225 performances. Thus, the gap over John's record turned out to be significant: about $360 million, with half as many shows as the British artist.
