The key facts
- The court ordered the Krasnodar administration to organize treatment of the garbage area against rats
- Residents had complained since March 2025; Rospotrebnadzor issued a warning, but the violations were not eliminated
- The Krasnodar Regional Court rejected the authorities' appeal, and the ruling entered into legal force
The court ordered the city administration to eliminate rats near the garbage area
Residents of an apartment building on Atarbekova Street in Krasnodar went to court and secured the sanitary treatment of a container area near which rats had been living since spring 2025. This was reported by the unified press service of the courts of Krasnodar Krai, while further details are provided by Life.ru.
A year of complaints and a Rospotrebnadzor warning
The problem began in March 2025, when rodents appeared at the site near the building. Residents repeatedly contacted officials, but the situation did not change, and the owners decided to seek safe conditions through the courts. During the proceedings, it emerged that the administration responsible for maintaining the site had organized neither deratization nor disinsection. Moreover, Rospotrebnadzor had already issued a warning to the authorities about the need to comply with sanitary requirements, yet the violations were not eliminated.
The ruling survived the appeal
The Pervomaysky District Court of Krasnodar found the administration's inaction unlawful and ordered it to organize treatment of the area. City authorities tried to challenge the ruling, but the Krasnodar Regional Court left it unchanged, reminding them that compliance with sanitary requirements in maintaining municipal container areas falls within the duties of local self-government bodies. The ruling has entered into legal force.
Similar problems in other cities
As Life.ru notes, similar communal problems arise in other cities as well: earlier, the outlet reported on residents of a nine-story building in Moscow's Chertanovo district, who, according to them, faced a basement flooded with sewage and fleas in the stairwells. The owners decided to change their management company, but for this they need to gather a sufficient number of votes.
