The key facts

  • Elon Musk said he is concerned about the absence of signs of aliens in the Universe
  • Earlier this year he allowed for a possible encounter with aliens, while three years ago he denied their existence
  • Since May, the US has been releasing documents on unidentified anomalous phenomena, including an account of the Roswell crash

Musk's new statement

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said he is concerned about the absence of any signs of aliens existing in the Universe. 'It really worries me that we still see no signs of aliens,' he wrote on his page on the social network X, reports Gazeta.Ru.

His position has changed

The statement stands out against the backdrop of a noticeable evolution in the entrepreneur's own views. In early 2026, Musk said that while exploring star systems, humanity might encounter aliens and extraterrestrial civilizations. Yet just three years earlier, he, on the contrary, denied the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations. Thus, the current remark is not the first change in his position on this issue.

Context: declassified files in the US

At the same time, since May the US has been releasing files on unidentified flying objects, which are listed in the documents as unidentified anomalous phenomena. In the latest batch of documents released in late October, there was an account by Walter Haut, a former officer at the American Roswell military base, about an alleged spacecraft and the bodies of aliens found at its crash site. Musk has also previously promised to build cities on the Moon and Mars.
