A rare family photo

Figure skater Elena Ilinykh posted a rare family photo on Instagram (Meta's owner has been designated an extremist organization and banned in Russia), showing her at home with her four-year-old son Dar. This was reported by Gazeta.Ru. Dar is the second child of Ilinykh and ballet dancer Sergei Polunin.

Family and children

Polunin proposed to Ilinykh in May 2022, and she, in her own words, agreed without hesitation, but the couple only held their wedding in 2024 — after the birth of their third child. In total, the couple have four children: their firstborn Mir was born in 2020, Dar arrived in 2022, son Era in 2024, and on March 8, 2026, Polunin told his followers about the birth of a daughter named Runa. Ilinykh said in interviews that she had dreamed of having a daughter after her first son, and that wish only came true in 2026.

The firstborn's name

In an interview with Ksenia Sobchak, Polunin admitted that he had wanted to name their firstborn Adolf, believing that «someone must someday cleanse this powerful name». According to him, Ilinykh talked him out of the idea, persuading him not to place such a mission on the boy. Earlier, the ballet dancer had already posted photos of his only daughter.
