A video set to a song from twenty years ago
13-year-old North West, the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, posted on her TikTok account a lip-sync video set to a remix of the song «Malо» by the singer Akula (Oksana Pochepa) — a hit that was popular back in the early 2000s. The clip quickly caught the attention of Russian-speaking users: Russian online communities joke that the daughter of American stars can now be counted as «one of us», which looks especially amusing against the backdrop of the girl's love for alternative aesthetics.
A new look and a new wave of popularity for the track
Experiments with her appearance are nothing new for North: the day before, she appeared at the Yeezy show in Los Angeles with long turquoise hair, lightened eyebrows and colored contact lenses; the look was completed with a black cloak and chunky boots. The song «Malо» itself has recently been experiencing a new wave of popularity thanks to remixes and short videos on social media — and now the heir of one of the most talked-about families in American show business has joined the trend as well.
What is known about the singer
Life.ru previously reported on how Oksana Pochepa is living now: the singer is married to film composer Igor Babaev, and the couple is raising a daughter, Raisa. According to the artist, it is important for a creative family to support each other and not try to remake one's partner.
