The key facts

  • Trusova decided to perform one quadruple jump in the free program instead of the two she was skating in Moscow
  • She received 72.37 points for the short program
  • She made it into the Grand Prix as the first substitute after winning the Denis Ten Memorial in Almaty

Decision on the free program

Russian figure skater Alexandra Trusova said she will perform in the free program at the ISU Grand Prix stage in China with one quadruple jump. This was reported by Sport24. “I have skated — more than once — with two quadruples, and it went fine. We’ll see here. I’ll probably compete with one quadruple — that’s what we decided. In Moscow I skated calmly with two,” the publication quotes the athlete as saying.

The performance and the path to the Grand Prix stage

In the short program at the Chinese stage, Trusova performed a double Axel, a triple loop, and a triple Lutz–triple toe combination; the judges scored her performance at 72.37 points. Earlier, she reacted to this first performance of hers at an ISU Grand Prix since her return, notes Gazeta.Ru.

How Trusova returned to international competition

The invitation to the Grand Prix stage in China came as a result of her victory on October 10 at the Challenger Series event, the Denis Ten Memorial, in Almaty: with a combined total of 226.01 points across two programs, Trusova earned the first spot on the substitutes’ list. In the winter of 2026, the figure skater announced her comeback and returned to the group of Eteri Tutberidze, with whom she had trained for most of her career, and in August she received neutral status.
