Controls tightened on eight routes
The press service of the Ministry of Transport announced intensified inspection measures in Tashkent's public transport aimed at strengthening fare payment discipline. Special control has been placed on bus routes No. 42, 56, 74, 84, 120, 169, 174 and 177. According to the ministry, from October 28 to November 2, 2026, 2,152 administrative protocols were drawn up under Part 5 of Article 144 of the Administrative Liability Code against passengers who had not paid their fare.
Where violations are most frequent
The largest number of protocols falls on four routes: 291 protocols were issued on route 174, 286 on route 120, and 284 each on routes 56 and 169. Thus, these four directions account for more than half of all protocols drawn up over the six days — 1,145 out of 2,152.
Passenger traffic grew on monitored routes
The ministry also noted an increase in passenger traffic during the control period: on November 2 compared with October 28, the number of passengers carried on route 174 rose by 1,692 (32.4%), and on route 56 by 1,256 (13.9%). In total, over the six days, 326,453 passengers were carried and 6,501 trips were made on the eight monitored routes. The ministry does not link the growth in passenger traffic to the control measures and provides no data on the dynamics of the number of violations within the period.
