The key facts
- Ukraine's GUR has added Tarzan and Natasha Koroleva to its database
- The performers are accused of supporting the Russian authorities' policy toward Ukraine
- A few days earlier, singer Shaman was added to the database, and before that an astrologer was added to the Myrotvorets database
Two performers added to Ukrainian intelligence database
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has added to its database the Russian showman, dancer and singer Tarzan (Sergey Glushko) and Honored Artist of Russia, pop singer Natasha Koroleva (Natalya Poryvai). This is evidenced by information posted on the database's own portal, reports Gazeta.Ru. According to the database's compilers, Tarzan approves of the actions and policies of the Russian authorities toward Ukraine: on social media the performer has repeatedly expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin, criticized NATO for pressure on Russia, and stated that 'the Russian world was, is and will be.' Koroleva, according to the same information, also supports the policies of the Russian authorities toward Ukraine: she declared her support for Russian volunteers helping soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces and wished them good health, and has also repeatedly visited Crimea.
A series of database additions
The addition of performers to the GUR database is not an isolated event in recent days: On November 3 it was reportedthat the singer Shaman had been added to the GUR's anti-Russian database. Earlier it became known that a Russian astrologer had been added to the Myrotvorets website database — the reason was his prediction about Volodymyr Zelensky. Thus, in less than a week, Ukrainian structures have updated the lists of several public figures at once, but the grounds for inclusion differed in each case: for Shaman and the performers in this article, it is the GUR database; for the astrologer, it is the Myrotvorets database, which is a separate resource. The publications do not report any practical consequences of being added to these databases for the performers themselves.
