The key facts
- Over nine months, oil production amounted to 482.2 thousand tons (-1.6% from 2025), gas condensate — 729.2 thousand tons (-14.1%), natural gas — 27 billion cubic meters (-16.4%)
- Gasoline production rose 2.6% from 2025, diesel fuel — 11.7%, while coal output was 5.4 million tons (-6.9%)
- For most indicators, the lag from 2025 in January–September was smaller than over the first eight months
Production remains below the levels of previous years
Energy resource production in Uzbekistan is gradually picking up, although it remains below the levels of previous years, according to a report by the National Statistics Committee, cited by Spot.uz. Over the nine months of 2026, oil production amounted to 482.2 thousand tons — 1.6% less than in the same period of 2025 and 11% less than in 2024. Gas condensate output totaled 729.2 thousand tons: down 14.1% from last year and down 21% from 2024. Natural gas production fell to 27 billion cubic meters — 16.4% below the 2025 figure and 19.9% below 2024.
The pace of decline is slowing
A comparison with previously published data for eight months shows that the gap from last year is narrowing across most indicators. In oil, the gap from 2025 was 2.2% in January–August, and 1.6% over nine months; for condensate, 14.8% versus 14.1%; for gas, 16.3% versus 16.4% (here the gap, on the contrary, slightly widened). The lag from 2024 also decreased for oil (12.4% versus 11%) and condensate (21.8% versus 21%), but for gas it grew from 19.6% to 19.9%. These figures for the eight months were given in an earlier articlecited by Spot.uz.
Gasoline, diesel and coal
Oil refining shows mixed dynamics. Refineries produced 913.2 thousand tons of motor gasoline, including 101.9 thousand tons in September: 2.6% more than in the nine months of 2025, but 8.5% less than in 2024. Diesel fuel production, by contrast, is steadily growing — 979 thousand tons, up 11.7% from 2025 and up 22.8% from 2024. Coal output amounted to 5.4 million tons, including 1 million tons in September: down 6.9% from last year, but with a slight increase relative to 2024. Portland cement production, in the wording of the report, stood at 16.2% (up 3.1% from 2025 and up 36.1% from 2024).
Context
Spot.uz previously wrotethat the Bukhara refinery is being modernized to increase output of AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline. The statistics committee's report reflects the situation over three quarters; the publication does not name the reasons for the changes in production.
