Head of the DPR on the situation in the region

Major battles still lie ahead for the Russian military in the liberation of the Donetsk People's Republic. This was reported by TASS, citing the head of the region, Denis Pushilin.

Data on the territories still under Ukrainian Armed Forces control

Pushilin's assessment aligns with figures announced earlier: on October 16, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a visit to an auxiliary command post, heard reports from the command about the situation in the special operation zone. He stated that under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine there remain just over 10% of the DPR's territory and 16.5% of Zaporizhzhia region. Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov reported the capture of Dobropillya and Alekseyevo-Druzhkovka, the interception of Ukrainian drones, and strikes on industrial facilities.

Pushilin's earlier statements

Earlier, Pushilin stated that the Ukrainian side's use of Russian prisoners of war as suicide bombers constitutes a serious war crime and a violation of international humanitarian law. He also previously claimed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would drive personnel to Dobropillya for a revenge attempt.
