'Questions about the supreme leader's health are usually always asked. In this regard, I want to say that he is doing excellently. As someone who has known him for a long time, at the meeting I felt his strong, energetic and hopeful spirit, as well as his resilience and calm. He is fully aware of all matters, both in general and in detail,' Daryo.uz quoted Ghalibaf as saying.
What was discussed at the meeting
According to Ghalibaf, the meeting with Khamenei covered the economic situation, ensuring the security of production chains, preserving the population's purchasing power, and supplying the military with necessary goods. Context: injuries and absence from public
In May, the head of the protocol service of the supreme leader's office, Mazaher Hosseini, reported, that Khamenei's health was improving: during the attack he suffered a knee injury and a laceration behind his ear. Later, spokesman for Iran's health ministry Hossein Kermanpour stated that the injuries had not affected the leader's appearance.
How Khamenei became supreme leader
Mojtaba's father, former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed on February 28 in US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran; his death was officially confirmed on March 1, after which a 40-day mourning period was declared in the country. The farewell ceremony, originally scheduled for March 4, was postponed to July due to the expected attendance of millions of people, and Mojtaba did not attend his father's funeral for security reasons. On the night of March 9 he was elected the new supreme leader, but due to his injuries he has still not appeared in public: his statements are read out by television anchors or distributed in written form. Ghalibaf's statement about a personal meeting and the leader's 'energetic spirit' is the first such description of his condition after months in which information about him came only through officials.
