The key facts
- Rosatom's mobile charging station is being tested at parking lot No. 9080 on Triumfalnaya Square
- The robot is equipped with a 74.6 kWh storage unit and supports fast charging up to 60 kW
- A session is launched via the Moskva Metro app; for now the station is operated by an engineer, with autonomous movement planned
Testing of the Mobile Charging Station
Testing has begun in Moscow of a mobile electric charging station created by the state corporation Rosatom. The testing is taking place at parking lot No. 9080 on Triumfalnaya Square. The project is being implemented by the capital's Department of Transport, the department's press service reported, citing Deputy Mayor Maksim Liksutov. According to him, the implementation is being carried out on the instructions of Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
How the Robot Works
The device is a robot with an energy storage capacity of 74.6 kWh, supporting fast charging at up to 60 kW. To recharge an electric vehicle's battery, the user simply needs to summon the robot to a parking spot and start a session via the Moskva Metro app.
Control and Prospects
At the current stage, the station's movement is controlled by an engineer, but in the future it is planned to equip it with an autonomous movement system. The testing is needed to verify the technology in the real conditions of a megacity.
Urban Infrastructure Context
Liksutov noted that the city already has more than 450 charging stations operating under the Energy of Moscow project, as well as four modern complexes. In his assessment, the new mobile development will open up new possibilities for urban infrastructure and increase comfort for electric vehicle owners, and the integration of unmanned technologies will further expand these possibilities in the future.
