Detention in Istanbul

As a result of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and Turkey, a citizen of Uzbekistan who was on an international wanted list was located and detained in Istanbul. This was reported by the press service of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Turkey.

Charges and Handover to the Authorities

The detainee had previously been placed on an international wanted list on charges of committing a crime under part 3 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (fraud). In accordance with the established procedure, the citizen was handed over to the judicial authorities of Uzbekistan.

Continued Work

According to the Consulate General, work is currently underway to identify other persons involved in the crime.
