New Jettas have almost disappeared from Russian dealerships: dealers doubt supplies will resume

New cars of the Jetta brand have practically disappeared from Russian car dealerships: most dealers surveyed have sold out their stock, and supplies, according to one Moscow center, were suspended back in 2024. At the same time, in March, brand representatives stated their intention to maintain a presence on the market. Only 1,450 new Jettas were sold in Russia in the first nine months of 2026.

Jetta cars have run out in Russia: supplies halted back in 2024

The Jetta brand, a joint project of Volkswagen and FAW, failed to establish itself on the Russian market. According to «Китайские автомобили» (Chinese Cars), supplies were suspended in 2024, and current sales are the sell-off of previously purchased cars. Leftover 2023–2024 models can only be found in Moscow.

VW recalls thousands of electric vehicles over battery fire risk

Volkswagen is conducting recall campaigns due to defective battery cells: around 22,000 ID.4 vehicles are affected in the US, campaigns have already been launched in the US and the UK, and a recall in Germany is being prepared. According to Handelsblatt, the recall may cover ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, ID Buzz and Cupra Born models from 2023–2025, but the group does not confirm this list. Owners are advised to charge their vehicles to a maximum of 80%.
