According to The Information and Bloomberg, grocery delivery service Instacart has hired an investment bank to evaluate its options and held talks about a sale with DoorDash and Uber. Uber, according to Bloomberg, withdrew from the discussions. The company's shares rose more than 9.2% on the news.

The deal is expected to accelerate the development of driver-assistance systems and a driverless robotaxi for Uber, which Rivian plans to deliver by 2028.
