65 Years After the First Turkish 'Gastarbeiter' Arrived in Germany — Poverty in Old Age
In mid-September, Düsseldorf Airport marked the 65th anniversary of the arrival of the first Turkish labor migrants. According to an analysis by the German pension fund, pensioners with Turkish citizenship receive on average €360 less than German pensioners and are three times more likely to depend on social supplements.
