Spanish in China: 12.6% growth and a shortage of teachers
According to the Cervantes Institute, the number of people studying Spanish in China grew by 12.6% between 2023 and 2025, but the education system cannot keep up with training teachers. The annual report 'Spanish in the World 2026' also revealed a shift in business demands: instead of translators, companies are seeking specialists with language skills and a second profession.
