Those convicted of extremism are barred from working as journalists and psychologists
Uzbekistan has introduced amendments to a number of legislative acts: persons convicted of extremist crimes will not be able to engage in journalism and educational outreach, provide psychological assistance, establish mass media outlets, or obtain permits for mass events. The restrictions remain in effect until the criminal record is expunged or lifted. At the same time, social adaptation measures are provided for such persons.
