Russia's shadow fleet: the US discusses easing sanctions while the EU seeks its own levers
According to DW, citing Reuters, the Trump administration is considering lifting sanctions on part of the shadow-fleet tankers in order to reduce record freight rates. Energy Secretary Chris Wright denies this. Experts believe that in that case the burden would fall on the EU, which has tools in insurance and Baltic Sea oversight.
