Less than 100 days remain in the UK before the analogue telephone network is switched off
Openreach said that as of 31 January 2027, around one million copper lines are still active in the country, including 300,000 at businesses. At risk are not only home phones but also payment terminals, lift emergency communication and fire alarms. Subscribers who fail to switch face automatic transfer to an expensive temporary service.
