Agriculture Minister: From 2027, cotton in Uzbekistan will be harvested 100% by machines
Agriculture Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov stated that in 2026, 75–80% of the cotton harvest was collected by machine, and from 2027 mechanization will be complete. Small plots of about 53,000 hectares are planned to be removed from cotton production. The ministry also stated that there is no forced labor.
