Melting glaciers in the Alps expose First World War munitions
After the hot summer of 2026, century-old shells have been discovered in the Italian Alps, in the Canal San Bovo area. Sappers of the Julia Alpine Brigade defused more than 250 explosive items over the season, including 55 in the last week alone.
