Atlantic herring has risen in price by 40%: economist names an alternative and gives a price forecast
Wholesale prices for Atlantic herring in northwestern Russia have risen to 190 rubles per kilogram. Economist Leonid Kholod explained the price increase by underfishing and European fishing regulations and suggested that replacing Atlantic herring with Far Eastern herring will not bring noticeable savings.
