CCUS Constructor Calls Modified Starlink Operations in Russia 'Musk's Cunning Maneuver'
Dmitry Kuziakin, Chief Constructor of the Center for Complex Unmanned Solutions, stated that SpaceX could close the vulnerability allowing modified Starlink terminals to operate over Russian territory through a standard software update but deliberately chooses not to do so. According to Kuziakin, these terminals transmit false coordinates, enabling operation in regions where the network is officially unavailable. He argues that SpaceX can resolve the issue with a simple security patch without altering its orbital constellation. While Musk previously announced closing a loophole used for drone strikes, it remains unclear whether this refers to the same vulnerability described by Kuziakin. Putin recently discussed contacts with the American side, including Musk, regarding satellite communications and praised Musk's achievements, comparing Starlink to Russia's 'Dawn' system.
