Kenya Reports Second Ebola Case Amid Ongoing Outbreak in the DRC
Kenya's Ministry of Health has confirmed a second Ebola case — a 39-year-old relative of the first patient, who died on October 5 in Nairobi. Authorities state there are no signs of community spread. In the DRC, where the outbreak was declared in May, more than 9,000 cases and over 4,000 deaths have been confirmed; the pathogen is the Bundibugyo virus, for which there are no licensed vaccines.
