Traces of coyotes found in Chihuahua DNA: geneticists are revising the breed's history
A Stanford University study published in Nature Communications has revealed genome fragments in Chihuahuas linked to wild coyotes of North America. Traces of ancient Arctic dogs were found in the Xoloitzcuintli. The timing and circumstances of the mixing remain unknown.
