Mahmood refuses to name the cost of the revised UK settlement plan
UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood has refused to reveal how much the revised version of her plan to extend the qualifying period for settlement will cost. She previously proposed doubling the period from five to ten years, but after criticism within the Labour Party she exempted some foreign care workers from the extended wait.
