Washington expects progress at the trilateral talks
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed hope for progress in resolving the Ukrainian conflict at the upcoming trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi. According to him, the US president's representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are already en route to the United Arab Emirates. This is reported by Life.ru.
Delegation composition and agenda
The talks between Russia and Ukraine with US participation are scheduled for November 10–11. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with Witkoff, confirmed Moscow's readiness to resume trilateral consultations, and the president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian delegation would be led by presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.
Who will be part of the Russian delegation
The Kremlin has revealed the full composition of the Russian delegation: besides Medinsky, it includes Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergey Ryabkov and Mikhail Galuzin, GRU chief Igor Kostyukov, and General Staff representative Yuri Zhigarlovsky. The diplomatic process will be coordinated by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
Expectations and Washington's caution
The participants of the meeting are expected to discuss security issues, de-escalation, and humanitarian initiatives. At the same time, as Life.ru notes, Rubio did not claim that an agreement would be reached as early as the upcoming round — that is, Washington frames the goal as progress rather than a final deal.
