Match progress
Krasnodar beat CSKA 4:2 at home in the 14th round of the Russian Premier League. The match took place at the Ozon Arena stadium in Krasnodar; Sergei Karasev was appointed as the main referee, and Gazeta.Ru ran a live text broadcast of the game.
Goals and assessment
Krasnodar opened the scoring: John Cordoba found the net in the 16th minute. In the 35th minute Matvey Kislyak equalized, but seven minutes later Joao Batchi put the hosts back in front. In the 74th minute Daniil Utkin scored, and in the 82nd Cordoba completed his brace. In the 90+1st minute Kirill Glebov pulled one back — 4:2. Former CSKA player Denis Popov in a comment to Euro-Football.Ru explained Krasnodar's success by home support and statistics: according to him, the Army Men have been unable to beat the Bulls away for about eight years, and he rated the chances in such games as 50/50.
Standings
After 13 rounds played, CSKA were third with 26 points, and the win lifted Krasnodar to fourth place — also with 26 points. Notably, this is Krasnodar's first RPL victory in autumn: before this match the team had picked up points but had not won in the championship. Thus, the teams are now level on points, and the gap between them is now determined by additional tiebreakers.
