Restrictions across the entire territory of the republic

Restrictions on electricity consumption are in effect across the entire territory of Crimea due to an accident on the main power grids. This was reported by Krymenergo on its channel in the MAX messenger:

Chronicle of the outages

Electricity supply problems on the peninsula have been going on for several days. On November 4, the Russian Ministry of Energy reported outages in Crimea and Sevastopol following a nighttime attack on energy infrastructure; specialists then began repair work, while socially significant facilities were provided with backup power. According to Life.ru, mass outages affected Simferopol, Yalta, Kerch, Saki, Yevpatoria and several districts of the republic: in Simferopol, trolleybuses were partially halted due to the lack of voltage, and the mobile operator Miranda introduced emergency roaming. In addition, school holidays in Crimea were extended because of the electricity problems.

The authorities' response

The head of the republic, Sergei Aksyonov, announced that all emergency repair crews had been placed on an enhanced work regime to deal with the consequences of the emergency on the main power grids. According to him, the Crimean authorities see all the problems and are doing everything possible to resolve them; at the same time, he acknowledged that it has not been possible to fix all the faults quickly, and thanked residents for their patience. Aksyonov also said that the accident occurred on main power grids outside the region. Before the current restrictions were introduced, Krymenergo had already spoken of temporary consumption restrictions in order to prevent grid overloads and accidents.
